To build something of your own.
It’s kind of always the same. When the idea for your small business strikes and you set out on the journey, it’s all smiles and lots of excitement.
Nobody can say anything to get you to stop thinking about your business and anybody telling you it’s a bad idea is just a hater. You don’t have time for that.
Then you go through the process of starting. You launch, you do it for a while, and then shit gets real.
Eventually, the excitement dies down as you start to actually run the business. If you find early success, you’re faced with figuring out how to scale before your service suffers.
At least that may be a welcome problem. If you don’t find early success, it’s worse. Now you’re worried about paying your bills.
You start second-guessing your decision. You think about the people who told you about the very roadblocks you’re facing.
If you’re not careful, you start to doubt your decision and think about how things can go wrong. This is my plea for you to pause before your negative thinking gets out of hand.
Don’t speak negatively about yourself, even as a joke. Your body doesn’t know the difference. Words are energy and they cast spells, that’s why it’s called spelling. Change the way you speak about yourself, and you can change your life.
